JOOX, Tencent’s music streaming service for the Southeast Asian market, has launched a non-fungible token (NFT) gallery in its app, taking another step in the Chinese tech giant’s Web3 drive.
- In collaboration with music NFT marketplace MusicY, the new NFT gallery allows artists and users to showcase their digital asset collections.
- Tencent launched JOOX in 2015 to tap into Southeast Asian markets such as Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Myanmar.
- Tencent started testing NFT avatars last week for its mainland China music app QQ Music.
- Chinese tech conglomerates Tencent, Alibaba and ByteDance headlined the country’s top 200 companies with the highest potential for metaverse businesses, according to local rich list curator Hurun Report.
