According to a Twitter post SHHAN, the creator of the black cat nonfungible tokens collection Mimic Shhans explained to users, dated December 11, why he blocked posts on community social media pages in Chinese. After users condemned the new measures, SHHAN took the decision to block posts on community social pages written in Chinese. SHHAN, who is located in South Korea, created a Chinese position to address the issue.
“It’s because I have previously posted on Twitter and Discord that my company is trying to enter North American markets. When responding to tweets, I advised everyone to use English. Why? Because I spoke to North American holders [of our NFTs]We were told by them that the comments on the Mimic Twitter account are almost all in Chinese. This made it very difficult for them feel the Mimic culture.
SHHAN explained that he had previously posted in Discord, recommending that users speak English. However, “the vast majority” of people didn’t seem to be able to follow the advice. He then stated that he considered the North American and European consumer markets vital for the Shhan Metaverse, dubbed “Shhanverse”, and wished that users “turned to the more internationalized English language” to discuss the project.
Mimic Shhans was launched in October and features NFTs “playful black cats” in different costumes. They are minted using the Ethereum blockchain. SHHAN explained that the collection is popular in China as the majority of NFT owners are based in China. OpenSea currently has 21,000 holders with 285 Ethers (ETH) volume traded since its inception.
