Blockchain
Beatport and Polkadot are teaming up on Beatport.io, a new electronic music platform that is on-chain. It currently has a waitinglist.
The Platform Web3 will be available to artists, record labels, and producers. It will also allow music fans to explore digital collectibles, deepen their connections to their favorite DJs, and enable them to discover new artists.
Polkadot new partnership
Live event activations to celebrate NFT collections will be a focus of the two partners. Ten events have been planned over the next 18 month.
Beatport, a DJ community staple since almost 20 years has over 16,000,000 tracks and nearly 100,000 record labels. It taps into the community via streaming, plugins and sound packs.
Polkadot’s move into the music and culture vertical with a platform of this size and scale is a relatively quiet start to 2023. Astar Network, which is based in Polkadot, hosted an earlier hackathon with Toyota as a sponsor. Despite this, it has been a quiet year for cultural and corporate partnerships.

Polkadot will be able to make a big change with this new partnership with Beatport.
Music and Blockchain
Spotify is not the only web2 music platform that has tried to get into this area. Blockchains such Aslana and Flow-based ChartStars, however, have been aggressively expanding their reach.
VAULT is a platform created by FanDuel’s co-founders. ChartStars works with Billboard and Universal Music Group.
Many projects from different chains are working to improve our interaction with music. web3 may be one of those keys.
