The trio of Polygon, Temora, and Luxochain are bringing blockchain technology to the realms of jewelry. Bulgari’s first NFT jewelry, dubbed “Beyond Wonder” or digital twins, is a testament to the designer’s creativity and cutting-edge digital technology utilized for luxury products.
Beyond Wonder is accompanied by the Ruby Metamorphosis and Emerald Gold Jewelry. This further revealed the long-held belief that Bulgari’s creativity is second to none and that the jewelry maker is forging ahead to make a name for itself.
Moreover, the new product further shows how Bulgari can use high-end creativity and cutting-edge digital technology to create something unique. However, the jewelry maker has revealed that it can only sell the NFT collectibles alongside its physical twin necklace. That is, merging the material and non-material into one whole.
For emphasis, the two digital jewelry pieces are not the virtual replicas used in the metaverse. Instead, they are digital art inspired by physical necklaces. Their data is in the custody of the Polygon and Aura blockchain networks.
Bulgari is an evolving high-end jewelry maker with an eye for defining creativity to meet contemporary times. The “digital twins” jewelry is not the usual digital art used in the virtual space or any metaverse-like ecosystem.
The jewelry maker is pursuing its goal of providing artistic features to its jewelry, partly inspired by the emotional dimension the brand portrays.
Furthermore, digital twins are the next definition of NFT for the fashion space as they provide wearability in the virtual environment. Bulgari is putting effort into linking NFTs to its high-priced jewelry to add spice for users.
The jewelry brand has set its sights on following in the footsteps of other high-end fashion product makers like Gucci and watchmakers like Tag Heuer. Bulgari differs from the two because it does not accept payment in cryptocurrency. And Bulgari is not looking to adopt crypto payments any time soon.
Bulgari Joined Top Brands in the NFT Space
The jewelry NFTs are minted by the innovative blockchain platform, Luxochain, known for its association with fashion and luxury brands. Polygon Studios provides technical support to Luxochain, while Temora creates the digital experience.
Bulgari has a long-term vision of launching NFT-backed jewelry that is affordable. Bulgari’s CEO, Jean-Christophe Babin, noted that the company imagines what it can achieve, and it is possible to do so.
Babin added that it is all about investing a greater part of creativity in the project because the artistic value is needed more than the 3D features.
The NFT space is rapidly becoming the next destination for fashion brands, tech, and other industries where digital replicas of products are made. By innovatively creating products for the virtual ecosystem, fashion brands like Bulgari are staking their place before NFTs go mainstream.
