Twitter will relaunch its revamped subscription service Twitter Blue Monday at a lower price for Apple users. said in a tweet Saturday
According to the company, users can subscribe to the revamped service for $8 per per month on the web and $11 per per month on Apple iOS.
Twitter didn’t explain why Apple Although users were charged more on the internet than they were elsewhere, media reports indicate that the company was trying to offset charges in the App store.
Twitter Blue had been launched initially by Twitter early November. It was then halted as fake accounts mushroomed. It was scheduled to launch again on November 29th, but was delayed.
Elon Musk, who bought Twitter for $44Billion in November, had a series tweets last month in which he listed his grievances about Apple. These included the 30% fee that the iPhone maker charges software developers to make in-app purchases.
Then, he accused Apple of trying to block Twitter’s app store. He also claimed that Apple had stopped advertising on social media platforms.
After a meeting with Apple chief executive Tim Cook he tweeted that the misinterpretation about Twitter being removed form Apple’s App Store was solved.
Both Apple and Twitter declined to respond to Reuters’ requests for comments.
