Unity will integrate Tezos’ blockchain into its game-development engine.
Unity, a popular game engine, has announced a partnership agreement with Tezos open-source Blockchain platform. The engine will be able to integrate the Tezos cryptocurrency in its Web3 software developer kit (SDK). The SDK is currently compatible with several platforms including Android, Desktop and iOS.
Web3 SDK gives game developers full access to the Tezos blockchain for data inspection and smart contract calling. It also allows you to pair different blockchain wallets. This will enable game developers and gamers to successfully authenticate blockchain credentials. Report Venture Beats suggests.
Tezos integration will allow the development kit to access smart contracts via Tezos. On-chain features, such as virtual currency transactions and in-game asset creation, can be accessed by users. Users also have the ability to trade assets in public markets within the game. In-game assets can also be transferred.
In addition, the SDK’s wallet-pairing capabilities will grant players the opportunity to authenticate their blockchain credentials in a game and carry out other actions such as authorizing on-chain transactions, having access to personal assets on the blockchain, and using these assets to procure in-game objects or services.
Unity Asset Store released the SDK. This makes it the first web3 tool on the store. Developers who utilize the SDK can also access the details of a developing game on Tezos, including actions like surveilling a card’s contents or other information.
The SDK allows games to allow players to manage their on-chain assets. Blockchain technology is known for its promise of actual ownership to players who purchase assets in-game. This can be verified through the Tezos blockchain.
Many industries are now interested in blockchain technology and cryptocurrency. Not surprisingly, the gaming sector isn’t left behind. Many game developers and top studios expressed an interest in blockchain.
ChainSafe Systems Inc. has recently launched web3.unity, a web3 development kit. It is a blockchain infrastructure platform. This kit provides Unity game developers with a blockchain-based infrastructure to develop games using the Unity engine.
