XLA on Tuesday announced that its Metasites modular internet framework for 3D was now live. Further demos will take place at the Game Developers Conference, GDC 2023.
Alexey Savchenko, XLA Chief Product OfficerThe solution was demonstrated at the event in San Francisco by, as the company addressed the audience with a speech about the Metaverse and synthetic medium.
This platform integrates metaverse and cloud technologies for community-driven entertainment and gaming creations.
According to a recent report, XLA Metasites received $100 million USD in initial funding for the development of virtual worlds with interactive and engaging content. press release.
Comments on Metasites Solution
In XLA’s presentation, it will debut Metasites’ core experience, high-definition graphics, and cloud and browser access, and integration of OpenAI GPT-3.5. This tool allows for intelligent interactions between non-playable characters and joins spaces, virtual assistants, etc.
In his speech, Savchenko told audiences that the idea behind Metasites allowed each location to become a part of an “infinite network of 3D, explorable spaces.”
He continued,
“Like hyperlinks, portals connect these worlds, and the core infrastructure operates on a series of open protocols and standards – much like today’s web. We strongly believe that the future of the internet is in 3D and are looking to partner up with creators and brands from all spheres and industries to build it together.”
Savchenko added that his company aimed to create “an evolution of the internet and new form of storytelling” with developers and authors “shaping worlds that create their agency, presence, and stories, accessible across multiple platforms.”

It will also provide developers with an interoperable platform that allows them to transfer digital assets and manage inventory objects across different environments.
XLA will launch a beta version of its platform at the GDC in the summer, and an enterprise and creator program will be available in the third trimester (Q3). The full commercial release of the platform is expected to be released in Q4 2012.
XR Innovation Takes Centre Stage at GDC 2023
This news is among a host new innovations at the conference with many key companies revealing their latest creations or upgrades for developers.
Spatial, one of the world’s top metaverse platforms for socialising and collaboration, announced on Monday it had integrated its Unity Creator Toolkit beta for early access to developers.
Major firms such as Vogue, Mcdonalds’, and others have tapped the platform for immersive events, training sessions, and gatherings.
Its latest upgrade incorporates Unity’s industry-leading tools to promote gamification and interactive exhibits. It allows for flexible content creation and publishing of interactive games across VR, mobile, and browser devices.

The platform has recently added customised avatars and world-linking portals. It also offers enhanced interoperability and visual scripting. Spatial says this allows users to create Unity-backed universes with just a few clicks.
Toolkit enhancements can also be used to provide visualisations updated with better lighting, animations shaders textures and triggers.
Croquet Corporation, an LA-based metaverse company, demoed its creation during the GDC. Its Croquet for Unity solution incorporates a JavaScript multiplayer framework for seamless connectivity with Unity’s developer toolkit.
It will also offer Unity-based immersive experiences using a low-code platform. It also removes the need to deploy servers to dramatically enhance multiplayer network configuration, leveraging the platform’s Reflector global network system.
XLA’s novel solution provides coordinated and seamless interactions across metaverse spaces with a unified computational architecture to streamline synchronised content and complex computations.
This solution improves metaverse interactions through bit-identical operations across clients and servers. These technologies enable Unity developers to have synchronised views, cloud computing on multiaccess edge computing (MEC), 5G networks, among other things. This allows for unrivalled low latency and bandwidth as well as low costs to create metaverse experiences.
